Homeowners want dwellings with ample natural light that are well ventilated and comfortable from a thermal perspective. With increasing cost pressure on building materials, architects, builders, and home renovators need smart, cost-effective solutions to meet the need for brighter, cooler homes.
MaxLight skylights and MaxBreeze Solar Roof Ventilators, designed and manufactured by SolarBright, meet these needs. They are straight forward to install and deliver on customer expectations.
Aa a family-owned Australian business established in 2008 SolarBright supplies energy saving products to housing industry trades and consumers across Australia:
• MaxLight residential and commercial tubular skylights
• MaxBeam24 night and day skylights
• MaxLED solar skylights
• MaxBreeze solar roof ventilators.
Meeting The Natural Light Challenge with MaxLight
With housing blocks smaller and homes built close to boundaries, providing natural light into the house is challenging. MaxLight tubular skylights are an effective solution to brighten dark areas in homes and buildings.
The Australian made MaxLight complies with AS4825 and Building Code Australia requirements. A MaxLight can be installed in an hour and gives years of trouble-free service backed with a 20-year local warranty.
The skylights come in three tube diameters – 250mm and 400mm for residential and 550mm for commercial applications. The MaxLight ML250 suits hallways, bathrooms, and kitchens. The ML400 is for larger rooms such as living and dining areas and larger kitchens.
They feature a highly reflective anodised aluminium tube that funnels light downwards to the patented triple lens diffuser. The diffuser spreads the light throughout the room whilst keeping heat out.
Solar powered dimmers are available.
Innovative Solar Skylights
The clever MaxBeam24 adds a solar panel, battery, and LED light ring to the MaxLight, making Australia’s first day and night skylight solution. During daylight the solar panel charges the battery. At night the battery powers the LED light ring that is fitted into the skylight tube just above the diffuser. It features an auto on/off motion sensor.
The versatile MaxLED solar skylight provides a solar powered LED lighting solution, again with motion sensor controlled auto on/off. It is ideal for garages, walk in robes, pantries and storage rooms.
Meeting The Cooling Challenge with MaxBreeze
With our climate a roof cavity can reach 65°C on hot days. This heat radiates through the insulation and into the living areas. Managing heat buildup in the cavity is crucial for the thermal comfort of the home.
The thermostat controlled MaxBreeze solar powered roof ventilator meets this challenge. It turns on when the cavity reaches 25°C. The quiet, brushless DC motor and fan extract the hot air replacing it with cooler air from outside.
The MaxBreeze overcomes the limitations of the whirlybird. The wind driven whirlybird will not work on hot, still days. On cold windy days it works against thermal comfort by extracting warm air from the cavity. A MaxBreeze only works when required and moves up to seven times more air than one whirlybird.
Many solar roof ventilators only work during daylight hours. MaxBreeze models are available that work both day and night via optional AC power or solar battery pack.
Preventing Moisture Build Up
Maintaining a moisture free roof cavity is a prerequisite for a healthy home. Excessive moisture damages roof structures and provides conditions suitable for mould growth.
Newly released MaxBreeze models feature a humidistat control as well the thermostat. When excess moisture is detected, the fan starts ventilating the cavity, preventing moisture buildup.
The Secret to Easy Installations – Leak Proof Flashings
The MaxLight and MaxBreeze products allow fast and efficient installs with minimal time on roof.
This is due to the seamless one piece, leakproof flashings shared between the products. These custom SolarBright designed flashings suit most Australian roofs and allow quick installation while maintaining the water and structural integrity of the roof.
SolarBright solutions for brighter and cooler homes are available through our network of business partners throughout Australia and NZ. We are expanding this network and look to partner with more professionals in the building industry including builders, architects, installers, and retailers.
