“Our teams know their local market best,” says Neil Littlewood, Regional Vice President United Rentals ANZ. “They understand what their customers want, and we tailor solutions to ensure they can get the job done effectively, efficiently, and on time.
“We are continuing to build a team of industry experts focused on understanding and delivering on our customers’ expectations,” he says.
With more than 700 employees in 60 branches across Australia and New Zealand, United Rentals provides: • General Equipment Rentals – including the innovative Fortawall Temporary Fencing system and a comprehensive range of earthmoving and traffic management equipment. • Trench Safety – offering innovative shoring, propping, and fluid solutions as well as engineered safety systems. • Container Storage and Worksite Facilities – offering high-quality storage solutions, portable buildings, site offices, and customised modular spaces.
Additionally, a team of dedicated engineers, covering product design, manufacturing, and crucial on-site assistance, ensures safe, certified, and efficient project delivery.
Mr Littlewood says expanding United Rentals’ footprint and its fleet is key to providing a “one stop shop” for customers across Australia.
“Creating greater choice in the market and providing better outcomes for local businesses and customers is essential for supporting and growing the Australian construction and hire industries.
“We have the best people, equipment and solutions in the industry and our focus is on supporting the industry forward into the future.”
Worksite Facilities evolving to meet demand
The construction and hire industries continue to evolve, especially with demand for sustainable and eco-friendly solutions.
Tammy Stanford, National Account Manager – Building & Construction, says United Rentals proactively works to reduce its carbon footprint
and with products like the solar-powered Site Hub it is helping customers do the same.
“The Site Hub is a powerhouse in reducing carbon emissions and tapping into boundless energy. We value partnering with our customers to reach their Net Zero targets while delivering cost-effective projects,” she says.
The Site Hub provides quick and efficient site set up, especially on projects when there is no or limited access to services such as power and water.
Research commissioned by United Rentals over the course of a year found the Site Hub reduced emissions by more than 95% and saved $25,000 over a year compared to traditional diesel-run generator sites*.
From shoring and propping to pumps and earthmoving
United Rentals provide expert engineering advice and innovative products in the shoring and propping space.
Steve McDonald, United Rentals National Sales Manager for Shoring, says these products are used for everything from installing culverts and supporting structures during maintenance, through to façade retention on construction sites and building retaining walls.
“This can include everything from utilising innovative hydraulic propping solutions through to determining whether props are drilled into the ground or Engineered Blocks are used with two tonnes of counterweight.
“No project is ever the same, so our expert team of engineers work with the customer to design and install a safe and efficient propping and shoring solution that meets their on-site needs.”
With its future-focused approach, United Rentals continues to expand its product range across its general rental, temporary works solutions, and storage and worksite facilities divisions.
United Rentals’ in-house engineering and manufacturing expertise enables it to provide customers with specialist solutions while ensuring strict quality control standards and ISO-certified container modifications are met.
Efficiency and expertise key
Newcastle Branch Manager, Sarah Atchison, says the hire industry must be extremely reactive to ensure customers’ needs are met.
“You never know what your day is going to be like. The next phone call you take changes every priority you had that day.
“We solve problems for our customers, and the main aim is to help make their project a success – that’s incredibly satisfying,” she says.
Sydney-based Business Development Manager, Daniela Herrero, is instrumental in the planning, design and installation of some of United Rental’s largest worksite solutions, including a challenging waterfront set up at Sydney Fish Markets.
Herrero says United Rentals’ wide range of container products provides customers with greater choice and trusted solutions for their worksites.
“The lunchrooms are strong, secure and ready to go once they are installed with everything from power, air conditioning and a fridge through to tables, chairs, and a kitchenette.
“The lunchrooms can also be combined with other products, such as change rooms or site offices, to meet a customer’s specific worksite needs.”
