For years, Modbury Sports Club had been operating at capacity, being stretched well beyond what modern football and cricket programs demanded.
Redeveloping the clubhouse is an investment in community sport, providing a modern facility capable of supporting current needs and future growth.
Through close collaboration, detailed planning and the use of advanced steel cladding and roofing systems, BluBuilt, Encompass and Fielders delivered a resilient, high quality building aligned to both program and design requirements. The project demonstrates how technical support and precise fabrication can elevate community infrastructure and reinforce the value of strong supplier partnerships.
The Fielders Solution
Fielders supplied a package of Kingklip®, Kingflor® RF55 and Finesse Boulevard® to meet the project’s roofing, flooring and façade requirements. Each system was chosen for its performance and its ability to support both the architectural intent and the practical realities of a constrained community build.
The project team delivered the community facility with a refined architectural finish. The combination of early design detailing, custom fabrication and collaborative installation resulted in a seamless raking façade created with fully customised Boulevard® panels, along with full-length KingKlip® roofing runs that eliminated the need for step joints. Factory produced rake cuts and stop ends helped reduce maintenance risks while ensuring a consistent finish across the building. This level of planning also supported a more efficient installation process, and with careful coordination between the builder, installer and suppliers, the project sequencing was managed effectively to suit the constrained site conditions and tight construction program.
For BluBuilt, the success of the façade came down to detailed preparation and measured sequencing. Each panel was custom-made to suit the raking geometry, with make up and corner panels confirmed at the end of each run. The team undertook comprehensive coordination with Encompass and the architect before fabrication to ensure accuracy.
“This process gave us confidence in the end result and the efficiency of install on a tight project timeline. To add to this, the finish quality meant that once the product was installed and the protective wrapping removed, there was no requirement to go back to the steel cladding for costly and program-impacting rework,” said Bean Read, BluBuilt Project Manager.
For Encompass, the project highlighted the strength of the partnership:
“Having the ability to work on projects like this with great builders and suppliers is what makes it pleasing for us. Our job becomes easy when a builder delivers quality construction and pairs it with great products and service from the supplier. The end result will always be strong.”
Building for the Future
With the construction completed, the club has the infrastructure it needs to support its expanding membership and to provide a more welcoming, efficient experience for players, families and volunteers alike. The building’s strong architectural form gives the venue a renewed identity while the durable steel façade ensures the structure will perform reliably for years to come.
Projects like Modbury Sports Club reflect what Fielders means by Building Together. By working alongside architects, builders and installers from the early stages of a project, Fielders helps turn design ideas into practical, lasting outcomes.
When collaboration, design and quality materials come together, the result is a building that not only looks great today but continues to serve its community long into the future.
